This is my Son Cody's Rock Crawler Project. I started this project with a home made chassis exactly like my crawler the Rock Thing. It is completely made of Delrin and has an adjustable wheel base of 12" to 16". The axils are clod units with locked diffs, the servos are Hitec 5645MG's and the motors are Integy 55 turn lathe motors. The wheels are Traxxas Stampede rims wrapped in Proline Moabs. The body is a Proline H2 SUT body that we are painting like the Transformer Ratchet. Look here to see a step by step of the paint job. This is my son's first cralwer. I hope to have it finished by next spring for him. We still have allot to do to thr truck.

The driver figure had to be very personal for this build. I wanted the driver to mimic my son. So since my son Cody wears glasses I decided to make a set of scale glasses for the driver figure. I painted his helmet an orange pearl metalic and added my son's name and a chrome star to the sdes before clear coating the helmet. I then detailed the openings with flat black, and colored the face with a skin tone. I then detailed the eyes, added eye browes and colored the center of the eyes brown like my sons. I then added the glasses and glued the helmet to the body.

Next I needed to paint the rims! The white rims clashed badly with the bright colored body. I removed each rim one at a time and sprayed them in flat black etching primer. While each rime was removed I cut down the foam tire inserts and put them back in. That pretty much sums up this build. I need to just install the reciever, and set up the radio and this rig is rolling!
