Vanessa's Box
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Back in 1987 Tamiya introduced The Lunch Box. I was 17 years old at the time and remember thinking about how cool all the Tamiya kits looked. There were several I wanted, and The Lunch Box was one of them. This is an original not a re release. I obtained the truck from my friend Wes whom got it from a family member! It was in pretty rough shape when I got it, but the gearbox was like new and the price was right! As you will see in the pictures it was restored with original old stock parts no new issue parts were used. This was a costly way to restore this truck but it kept its authenticity. I have the correct motor and mechanical speed control for the truck but since I'm not one to leave anything stock I didn't use them in the restoration. Instead I used a period correct Trinity Monster Motor. The truck does have a period correct Futaba Servo in it. I also updated the wheels and tires on the truck. The original rolling stock just didn't appeal to me much, so I replaced them with a set of HPI 5 spokes and wrapped them in Imex 2.2 Claw Dawgs. The gearbox and wheels got new ball bearings as well so it should be a smooth running machine. This thing was a blast to restore and I still cant believe I have one after all these years of wanting one.
